This past week I've been semi-bored because I've been trying to decide on what new sewing project to work on. I finally decided that I should work on creating a nursing cover (see
here for pattern), but then on Friday I discovered that I didn't have some D-rings so I couldn't finish the project.
Instead of wasting the whole day doing nothing again, I decided to use some scraps/sample squares of fabric that I had to try and create some cute baby booties from a pattern I found online. Unfortunately most of the sample squares I had were flowery, or girly looking, so I tried to use the most boy-ish ones I could find. Ryan's still not sure he approves of the end shoes because they might still be too girly, but mostly I just wanted to finish something and to try out the pattern in case I want to use it again.
Here is what the end result was:
Awww.. cute lil' booties |
I made them out of light-weighted cotton material, so I wouldn't wear them outside or anything. |
Blue on top, red on the bottom, cream and white on the back and inside. |
And little buttons for decoration.. |
The pattern is supposed to be for size 0-6 months. The shoes ended up being about 2 inches wide and 4 inches long (about the width of a business card, but ~1/2 inch longer).
