Friday Morning Sewing Project: Baby Shoes

This past week I've been semi-bored because I've been trying to decide on what new sewing project to work on.  I finally decided that I should work on creating a nursing cover (see here for pattern), but then on Friday I discovered that I didn't have some D-rings so I couldn't finish the project.

Instead of wasting the whole day doing nothing again, I decided to use some scraps/sample squares of fabric that I had to try and create some cute baby booties from a pattern I found online.  Unfortunately most of the sample squares I had were flowery, or girly looking, so I tried to use the most boy-ish ones I could find.  Ryan's still not sure he approves of the end shoes because they might still be too girly, but mostly I just wanted to finish something and to try out the pattern in case I want to use it again.

Here is what the end result was:

Awww.. cute lil' booties
I made them out of light-weighted cotton material, so I wouldn't wear them outside or anything.
Blue on top, red on the bottom, cream and white on the back and inside.
And little buttons for decoration..
The pattern is supposed to be for size 0-6 months.  The shoes ended up being about 2 inches wide and 4 inches long (about the width of a business card, but ~1/2 inch longer).
