Cutie Patootie

Before we all got sick, however, we took Matthew to get his pictures taken professionally.  He didn't want to cooperate too well because he only wanted me, and the toy that was in the waiting room.  Once we gave him that huge toy we got a real smile out of him.. silly kid.

Here are a few of my favorites..

Thanksgiving Trip

Well we had an adventurous trip to Washington for Thanksgiving this year..  The weather was mostly normal for Washington, it only flooded a few houses over the weekend, but the rest was "fun".

First off Matthew and I caught the flu flying to Washington, so that first Friday night I was throwing up and then Saturday morning everyone was watching and playing/distracting Matthew so that I wouldn't get the others sick, hopefully.  Unfortunately, I hadn't gotten sleep, or eaten anything in a while so on my last trip to throw up I fainted after I walked in the door and bonked the tip of my skull near my eyebrow on the shower enclosure.  So when I woke up, I threw up and then realized I had a golf ball on my eyebrow... or at least that's what it felt and I'm sure looked like.  I'm pretty sure I scared Ryan's mom when she came in later.

After a bunch of ice and later ibprofen I could start opening it fully again on Sunday night, then it started turning very pretty colors.  On monday it looked like I had really heavy purple makeup on, and just forgot to do the one eye.

Unfortunately, everyone else got sick right after I did over the weekend, though luckily Matthew never threw up and only Steven had the flu as bad as I did.

Anyways, later in the week Ryan came and we went dirtbiking for our date on Thanksgiving morning.  Of course I wrecked.  The first time wasn't that bad, the second was really bad (I killed my knee and leg, and it was very painful to walk/ride home), then third time I was just stupid and dazed because my leg hurt so bad on the ride back.

So here are some pictures, of course we saw lots of family, and overall it was lots of fun. We just had the flu and I got beat up a lot.

We told matthew to have just one, so he brought me just one then ate the rest of the m&m's by the fistful until we hid them.

His favorite people were Grandpa, Steven, and Great-grandma..

I had to stand with my leg straight or it hurt too badly, I have a black eye, and I'm wet up to my thighs, but it was lots of fun!

We were afraid Ruger was going to attack him.. so we separated them to give Ruger a break.

Snow Storm

So the weekend before I left for Washington for Thanksgiving, it snowed.. for 3 days straight! and we got 18 inches of snow!  Needless to say we all went out and played in it and went sledding on Saturday..

We went real sledding later, this was just us getting ready..

Poor kid.. he's falling off the back in this picture, but he didn't mind, until he realized he couldn't get up or move.

The abominable snow-matthew

After we got back.. Matthew loves to shovel.  He even helped daddy shovel the driveway out front.

Updates

Got 18 inches of snow in 3 days, went sledding and ate lots of hot chocolate.
Flew to Seattle for Thanksgiving vacation last Wednesday without Ryan.
Recovered from the flu, but got a black eye fainting over the weekend.
Waiting for Ryan to arrive this Wednesday..

Here's to hoping Matthew doesn't get the flu, and keeps sleeping well at night!

Matthew the Piano Prodigy..

He's done this quite often, but this is the first time I got it on camera well.  I must say he has good rhythm....

Amy and Michael Visit

So on Saturday Amy and Michael came to visit so that we could do a babysitting/temple swap.  It was really nice because Ryan and I haven't been there together in a long time, and we got to have them take some family pictures for our Christmas card this year.

Don't let this picture fool you, Matthew was not happy at me holding Emmalynn or watching her for a few hours.  I had to hold/carry both of them everywhere and if I was holding her, I had to hold him too.  After holding him if he went to play, I had to be within sight and watching him play for him to be happy.

Playing in the Cupboards

Lately Matthew's been my little climber.  He's starting to get a lot more adventurous, so I have to watch him closely, but this was just too funny for me not to take pictures of.  He's now decided that it's great fun, and after he takes all the pots and pans out he like to climb up there regularly (probably every other day).

So proud of himself...

Playing with pans.

He can even get out by himself too.
This video's from the first time he did it.
