Recent Happenings..

Lately Ryan and I have been garage and yard sale hopping to buy some baby boy clothes.  However, last week we ran across this wheat grinder for only five dollars!!  We couldn't pass it up, especially since I've been wanting cracked wheat since I ran out a couple of months ago.  Anyways, we bought the grinder, and 25lbs of hard white wheat to try it out on.  Here are a couple of pictures of the wheat and grinder.  It makes a little finer grain than my mom's cracked wheat, even when I have it adjusted to the most coarse grind.  Did I mention that it's Italian, and that the cannery sells it for 75$?!?!

This past weekend we also bought a stroller/carseat.  We'd been looking for a while at the different types and we decided that this was our favorite combination.  Ryan's just sad that it doesn't come in a bright red..  Maybe the toddler seat we get will have some bright red on it.

Since the box was a little beaten up, Ryan wanted to have a few pictures of what it looked like inside the box incase we had to return it.

Isn't green just as good as bright red??  This picture makes it look like a brighter green than in person, I think.
We also went to Maurice's to try on the shirt that Amy wants for the girls to wear, so that I know if it fits me now, and the how probable it will be to fit me in 2 months.  Here are those pictures.. sorry for the cheesy grins, felt a little silly taking pictures in the store, and Ryan doesn't exactly inspire photogenic photos when he feels sillier to be taking the picture.

See the huge belly??.. umm yeah.  I still just feel and look fat, although you can at least TELL I'm pregnant now.  (Btw, I measure completely average, not small at my doctor's appointments) These pictures are also kinda orange-y, not sure why.  Probably no flash went off inside, I forget.
Since it's been raining a TON recently, the skyline road that Ryan likes to drive is closed about 4 miles in on the Bountiful side.  He wanted to try the Farmington side where it comes out, but that road was closed right at the bottom.  We did find a side road that went a little ways, but then we think it ends and turns into private property, so we turned around.  At least Ryan got to have fun driving though this:

Looking upstream.
Looking downstream.

Needless to say it was lots of fun and the hills/mountains/shrubs are the greenest I've ever seen them.  It's weird to be up on those roads and to have green on both sides of you instead of just brown.
Last, but not least, some garden/yard pictures.  We recently bought 150feet of hose so that we could leave the hose connected to the spigot and I could water the plants without having to lug buckets of water back behind the garage.  That's what we did last year, and it was heavy!  But with Ryan gone at work when the plants need watered, and me being pregnant we decided to take the easy way out.  It has been so nice too, although we haven't needed to water it very much because it's been raining all the time.

Pea plants.  We're finally starting to have some peas! and the plants have been growing better since it was sunny this past week.  FYI, those are all flower petals from a tree that grows nearby.

Lettuce, which is ready to be cut and eaten!, some cherry tomato plants, tomatillo plants (that I grew from seed, yippie!), and then our strawberry plants/mounds, and then regular early-girl tomatoes in the back.  So far we've have 3 ripe strawberries, but all three have been eaten by the next door neighbors cat!  We're not sure how to fix the problem yet, but something is going to be done!

More lettuce, and then our raspberry bushes as you walk out of our garden.

Rhubarb patch, still growing strong.

Then just some flowers that are around the yard.

Baby's breath, maybe?

These are the same as the picture above.
Anyways, long post, lots of fun stuff we've done and seen!
