So last Saturday the weather was gorgeous! High of 55 degrees and sunny, so Ryan and I really wanted to go for a bicycle ride. We've been looking for a trailer for Matthew to sit in because we want to ride more as the weather gets warmer, but couldn't find a nice one for less than 400$! So, we asked when Kid to Kid gets them, and they said they get more as it gets warmer outside, but that didn't help us out last Saturday. Anyways, we decided that we still wanted to go, so we thought Matthew could ride on Ryan's back in the baby wrap I made. It actually worked out really well, and Matthew absolutely loved riding on Ryan's back. He stayed pretty warm, although the wind was cold and made his eyes tear up some.
Here we are testing out the baby wrap inside before we go on our trip. Matthew loves being up high facing forward! Everytime we started to put him on our backs, before we even stood up he started giggling, talking, and smiling. Unfortunately, he thinks my hair is a toy to play with (and pull! ouch!) when he's on my back, so I need to figure out a way to hide my hair from his super strong grip.
Just starting on our ride, which was 10 miles~! I was dying by the end and Ryan's going "I need to go again because I didn't get a work out at all."
Matthew even got in a short nap on the way back. Oh and the little socks are 'mitten's for his hands, which he didn't really need because they stayed warm on Ryan's neck right behind his head.
Ryan said Matthew was pretty easy to wear, except that his back and shoulders started hurting towards the end. Oh, and I made that hat for Matthew while we were in Washington for Ryan's job hunting. I think it's pretty cute, and I didn't even follow a pattern.
